Integrative Psychotherapy with Ros Dodd
A space for the parts of you that don't usually get a hearing — relational, trauma-informed, and shaped around you rather than a single method.
Therapy built around the whole of you, not a single technique
Integrative psychotherapy doesn't ask you to fit one model. It draws on relational, psychodynamic, and body-aware approaches to work with whatever you bring — anxiety, low mood, relationship patterns, trauma, or simply a sense of feeling stuck.
Our past experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others in the present. Therapy offers a chance to slow down together and examine those patterns — not to single out any part of you as the problem, but to understand what each part has been trying to do for you, and why. In this way of working, there are no "bad parts," only parts that have had to work hard, sometimes in ways that no longer serve you.
Sessions are collaborative and paced to you, whether you're looking for a short piece of focused work or a longer, open-ended process.
Alongside talking therapy, hypnotherapy techniques (from my qualified CNHC practice) can also be included as an option for nervous-system regulation work, where that's helpful.
Where, when, and what this is (and isn't)
Location & format
In-person in Leatherhead, Surrey, or online across the UK — whichever works better for you session to session.
Timing
Opening to new clients in September 2026. Register your interest now and I'll be in touch as soon as booking opens.
Session length
Sessions run for 50 minutes, held weekly at the same day and time where possible, to give the work a steady rhythm.
Length of work
Some people want a short, focused piece of work; others prefer an open-ended process that unfolds over longer. Either is welcome — we'll shape the pace together.
My training status
I'm currently completing an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute, working under clinical supervision as a UKCP Trainee Member and NCPS Student Member. I'll always be upfront about what stage I'm at.
Alongside my hypnotherapy work
This is a separate strand of practice from my CNHC-registered hypnotherapy work — related, but distinct in training, approach, and what it's suited for.
A few things people usually ask
Is this the same as counselling?
Broadly, yes — "counselling," "therapy," and "psychotherapy" overlap a lot in everyday use, and people search for all three. Integrative psychotherapy training covers the same core relational skills as counselling, alongside a wider range of approaches for more in-depth or longer-term work.
What does "Trainee" actually mean here?
I'm currently completing an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute, seeing clients under clinical supervision as part of my training. I'm a UKCP Trainee Member and NCPS Student Member, and I'll always be upfront about what stage I'm at — nothing on this site implies qualifications I don't hold.
Is it online, in-person, or both?
Both. I see clients in-person in Leatherhead, Surrey, and online across the UK — whichever suits you, and this can also change session to session if needed.
How long does therapy usually take?
It depends what you're bringing. Some people want a short, focused piece of work around one issue; others prefer a longer, open-ended process that unfolds over months. We'd talk this through together rather than me setting it in advance.
What happens in the first session?
Mostly, we get to know each other. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy now, a bit of background, and what you're hoping might change — and you're just as welcome to ask me questions. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before you arrive.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes, with the usual professional exceptions around risk of serious harm, which I'll explain clearly before we start. As a trainee, I also discuss my work anonymously in clinical supervision, which is a standard and required part of ethical practice.
What will it cost?
Fees will be confirmed closer to my September opening. Register your interest below and I'll let you know as soon as they're set.
